Making futsal history in Singapore, this first ever formally organized futsal tournament saw 2 of the best teams from Singapore, Malaysia & Indonesia going head to head at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza on the 23rd June 2012. Indonesia's Enrico FC emerged the champions in an afternoon of 5-a-side pitch excitement. The afternoon also featured an exhibition match between the Urban Street Team and local media.

Futsal Association (Singapore) President Ronnie Lee met the media together with Fons Houtkamp, General Manager - Coty Beauty Far East Export, in a press conference and was quoted by Today On-line as hoping competitions like the adidas Extreme Power 5s can help build a bigger base of futsal players in Singapore.

"Futsal is all about the basic techniques of football, and there are players in our domestic league who lack these basic skills," he said.

"We are working towards engaging more primary schools to have futsal, because kids want to play, and we want to reach out especially to those who don't get selected for their school teams tend to be forgotten."
